New high precision and cost-effective gear measuring centre

A new high accuracy gear measuring centre (C Series GMC) has been officially presented at the CCMT in Beijing. This fully automatic CNC controlled gear measuring center has been designed as a compact unit, in four classical diameter ranges up to 260, 400, 650, 800 and 1000 mm. The measuring center can be used to measure spur and helical gears, as well as hobs, shaper- and shaving cutters (December 2008) , worms and wormgears, bevel gears and rotors. In addition to the mechanical components of the measuring center such as bed, workpiece rotation, the tailstock, the horizontal, vertical, tangential measuring axis and the 3D Renishaw probe, a 4-axis path control in conjunction with a computer ensures all functions of the GMC. The sotware is very user-friendly. After switching on the measuring machine, the reference point is automatically located.
The further development od the software will allow tooth surface topographical analysis and evalation of correction parameters for spiroid gear hobbing and grinding machine, at the
moment the software is available for correction on Chinese machines only. The TOPOFLANK project has been proposed within the MANUNET EU FP coordinated by Feanor in Estonia and will allow parameter correction of machines manufactured in USA and Germany.
